LGBTQ rights may be safe at SCOTUS, for now

When Justice Amy Coney Barrett was nominated to serve on the Supreme Court, many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) persons were concerned about what impact she may have on their rights, including marriage equality. She did not make them feel comfortable in her confirmation hearing when she referred to "sexual preference," a term viewed by gays and lesbians as derogatory because it suggests that sexual orientation is a choice. She did apologize for using the term.
