A South Carolina family is in mourning after a father accidentally shot and killed his 9-year-old son while they were out hunting on Thanksgiving.
Local news outlets report that Colton Williams was fatally shot on Thursday (Nov. 30) in Springfield in Orangeburg County.
Family members told police Colton was out rabbit hunting with his dad and a family friend on Thanksgiving when his dad accidentally shot him.
Williams was a fourth-grade student of Kelly Elementary School in Williston.
School district officials said that counselors would be available at the school when students return to school Monday.
