“The cause and manner of death are currently pending until a toxicology is conducted,” Carol Walker from the Medical Examiner’s Office told Radar Online. “It could take up to 90 days.”Tyler Skaggs was found unresponsive Monday morning (Jul. 1) in his hotel room in Southlake, Texas. He was just 27 years old. “The Southlake Police Department responded to a call of an unconscious male in a room in the Hilton Hotel,” Southlake police said in a news release. “Officers arrived and found the male unresponsive and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.”Tarrant Co. Medical Examiner says it will withhold autopsy information regarding Tyler Skaggs, per the family's request, pending completion of a final examination. It estimates a completion date of Oct. 2.

Skaggs, a starting pitcher for the L.A. Angels, and his teammates were in town to play a game that night against the Texas Rangers. “It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas,” the Angels said in a statement. “Tyler has, and always will be, an important part of the Angels family. Skaggs had played with the Angels just days before against the Oakland A’s, pitching four innings and striking out five players. He had a standout 2019 season, posting seven wins and 78 strikeouts in 79.2 innings pitched. Authorities said no foul play was suspected in Skaggs’ death and they also said there weren’t any obvious signs of suicide. L.A.
