Opinion: It was easier to donate a kidney to my husband than to keep him safe during the pandemic

I felt relaxed and even happy as I handed my husband, Bryan, a beer. It was a feeling I hadn't experienced often during the pandemic, but it was this past July and things seemed like they were getting back to normal after a brutal and gruesome year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
